Information design
Some experts have written books that, if properly attended to, can radically upgrade anyone's information design skills. Anything by Richard Saul Wurman (general information design), Clement Mok (online design) and Edward Tufte (quantitative and graphical information) can be trusted (Davenport, T.H., 2000 in: Mastering Information Management, Financial Times, eds.).

Mok, C. (1996) Designing Business: Multiple Media, Multiple Disciplines, Basingstoke: Macmillan Computer Publishing.

Tufte, E.R. (1992) The Visual Display of Quantitative Information, Graphics Press.

Wurman, R.S. (1989) Information Anxiety, New York: Doubleday.
